Is Your Collegiate Summer League a Waste of Time?
Earlier today I got a calls from 3 pitchers from a Top 20 Division 1 baseball program. In Lieu of summer ball these guys, upon the advice of their pitching coach, have decided to attend our Summer Rocketeer Training Program.
These guys and their coach really get it!
I know I'll catch a lot of flack for this, but here it is...

Get Confident or Get off the Field!!
Everyone I talk to seems to agree that confidence is the number one determinant of performance in baseball, in the workplace, and in life. However, there also seems to be a dearth of knowledge on how to get and remain confident.
In baseball, it appears that most players have little or no idea how to create the confidence they need to succeed. They wait around to see how things will to go and pray that the baseball Gods will drop down confidence like manna from heaven. Its like they arrive at...

Too many coaches and Dads look for mechanical flaws to explain lack of command. I have recently concluded that command is almost totally mental. Anecdotally, I've seen guys with horrible mechanics throw lots of strike, and I've seen mechanical poster boys who couldn't get the ball over the 17 inch dish to save their lives....
